[01] Introduction

Jesse Ray Diamond is a self-taught, Bay Area-born, Los Angeles-based commercial and film director whose work spans award-winning commercials, documentaries, music videos, episodic projects, and films.

His work is textural, experimental, and emotionally driven, using dynamic camera work, striking imagery, and contemporary VFX implementation to create worlds that feel cinematic and larger than life, while always keeping an authentic human story at the center. Shaped by a childhood across Vallejo, Oakland, and San Francisco, Jesse’s visual language carries that cultural force, energy, and art-forward spirit of the West Coast.

He has become a trusted voice for agencies, studios, and production companies around the world, directing global campaigns and award-winning projects for Apple Music, Amazon, Netflix, Adidas, Nike, Under Armour, Beats by Dre, Samsung, NBA, Kohl’s, and AT&T.

Jesse has directed talent including LeBron James, Dr. Dre, Lionel Messi, Shohei Ohtani, Sha’Carri Richardson, Naomi Osaka, Daniel Ricciardo, Candace Parker, Angel Reese, Caleb Williams, Shedeur Sanders, Jayden Daniels, Ivan Cornejo, and more.

His iconic Beats by Dre “Beats Elite” campaigns earned him a Cynopsis Award and coverage from Ad Age and ESPN, helping establish him as part of a new generation of directors redefining contemporary commercial filmmaking.

He is currently working on Compton Cowboys, a documentary about legacy, family, and Black cowboys on the West Coast, slated for a 2027 festival premiere.
